Our scanner drew its stripe lines (shown in cyan). On every photo here a stripe is known-missing. Each AI got the photo plus the scanner's lines and had one job: spot the missing stripe and draw it. Green is the true missing stripe; each AI's recovered line is in its own colour. A recovered line sitting on the green one is a hit.
